World A Fair 2018

Tonight we went to the World A Fair in downtown Dayton, Ohio. We sampled many different dishes and met some really neat people.

We met Kim and Tanya from the Montgomery County downtown Library. they shared with us how much the new library has made such a big difference in the community! Thank you ladies for your time and for being ambassadors for library! Then we met Barbara for the Dayton International Peace Museum.

We have added that to the places we want to visit this summer. Thanks Barbara! When we walked in there was a parade of all the nations that were represented, the bagpipers lead the way…

Then we went in and ate our way around the world. Not really we brought a lot of stuff home to eat this weekend. But let me tell ya they had food for everyone there.if you get a chance to go it costs $8.00 at the door the entertainment is free but it does cost to eat. The World A Fair is located in the Convention Center Downtown!

We even met Uncle Sam

Oh The Places We Do Go

Last night Ohiophotogrl and I went to First Friday in the Oregon District. On the first Friday of every month all the shops are open till 9 or later and there are street performers and people playing music in the street. This month we checked out a place called 416 Dinner.

The have the most wonderful potato twists there that you will ever have! Ohiophotogrl got a grilled cheese that was quite yummy and our pal ScottyScouts got a veggie burger. MMMMM they even have a kids menu.

The place seats about 25-30 people I would guess but the owner came over and talked with us and the waitress did a great job as well. Pretty sure we have a new favorite place.

They have vegetarian options and they have gluten free desserts! You really should go check them out if your in downtown Dayton, Ohio. There actual location is 416 E 5th St.

So I drew this about my feelings about the snow.

Then Ohiophotogrl told me it would be ok because we have our plants growing and soon we would be able to put them in the garden.

But today we planted two fig tree starts!

Keep your fingers crossed!

Cash Explosion adventure

Today Ohiophotogrl took me and some of her family on an adventure. We went to a taping of Cash Explosion in Columbus Ohio. We had breakfast at her dads and then loaded up the van and headed out. The car ride is a little over an hour from his house but we had fun talking about which of our relatives we had talked to this week.

Cash Explosion has been collecting canned goods for the food banks in the area, so we each took 10 canned goods and were entered into a drawing for $500. Of course we didn’t win but we still had a good time. The taping lasted about an hour and a half and there was lots of prizes to be won by the people in the audience.

We had to go thru metal detectors to get in…for our safety and they sat us in the front row! OMG we are gonna be on TV. We sat right where the contestants came into the show! Show airs March 24th so be in the look out for us. Ohiophotogrls sister won a few things.

And so did her dad but we didn’t have any luck but we did get to meet the Hosts of the show…

The best part was we all had a great time! I’ll leave you with one last photo of me as we were leaving

What a fun day….wonder what we’re gonna do next?

Today some of you will be celebrating Valentines Day. I personally Love this day! Why you ask….

I’m ready are you

Here in the 937 we got hit with a few inches of snow last night

It was really bad this morning, but as you can see the roads are now clear. That little spot by my nose…..it’s a resident squirrel. He came down from his nest to get the corn I left him :0)

I am so ready for spring! I ordered some seeds for the garden and they came in the mail yesterday!

This isn’t everything I’m gonna plant but a variety of the things I want to grow. Do you have a Garden? What do you like to plant in your garden? Stay tuned as it gets closer to spring, we will be getting the garden ready and even planting some starters ahead of time! I love to garden! This year we ordered heirloom seeds from http://www.rareseeds.com no gmos. We will be sharing more about this as time goes on!

Hey you

Can bubbles freeze

Ohiophotogrl and I have been watching people blow bubbles when it’s really cold out side. Some of the photos are really neat! We thought we would give it a try.

First we mixed our solution.

We used:

1 cup of water

1/4 Cup Of Dawn dish soap

1/8 cup of Karo corn syrup (the clear kind)

Mixed it all up and then let it set on the counter for half an hour. We wanted it wall to be at the same temperature.

Then it was time to test our bubbles. There was very little wind. This is very important to know. Wind will burst our bubbles. It also has to be below 15 degrees. We waited till it was 12 degrees outside. We went on the back porch and turned on our porch light. There is a trash can by the back door so that’s where we aimed the bubbles.

Several bubbles landed and after 3-4 minutes this is what we got

Kinda looks like a doggie if you look in the bubble. We got frozen lines in there but no real cool patterns. The wind started to pick up which causes the bubbles to do this….

It was a fun experiment! Wonder what we’re gonna do next?

Before bed

I have a routine I like to do before bed. I like to wash my face

Brush my teeth

Brush my scalp

Then I curl up with Ohiophotogrl and we say our prayers before we close our eyes and go to sleep. What do you do before bed?
