So Cousin Buddy and I curled up on the couch yesterday and watched cartoons all day!
During some commercials Buddy made breakfast.
Have you ever had pan fried skittles?
Wonder what we’re gonna do tomorrow?

Last night was trick or treat here I the 937. I couldn’t decide what to wear so I did costume changes.
Ok maybe more than a few but a Tator has to have options ya know! Hope you all had a safe and fun night last night. We had about 25 trick or treaters. Rain dampened the night but Ohiophotogrl has fun running around to all the neighbors to see what kind of candy they had….I’m not sure she will ever grow up. I think I’m ok with that!
Here is to a great November!

With fall being just a day or two away Ohiophotogrl thought we should make some homemade applesauce. It’s apple season hear in the 937 so we went out to Peifers Orchard for some local grown apples. This batch will be made with just apples, water and lemon juice to start. Then we will add some spices like cinnamon:0)
First thing we To is peel and core the apples
With the Apple peeler in the top photo it cores the Apple at the same time it’s peeling so it makes fast work out of getting the apples ready. Then we throw them in the pan with the water and lemon juice….
But a lid on it and wait for it to get all tender so we can squish it all up for our applesauce.
Then we will can it and it will look like this

Sorry for disappearing on you. Ohiophotogrl and I have had some crazy times. So much so that I’ve been taking the photos and not being in them. I told her it was crazy but she insisted that I do a blog post about her crazy few weeks. First off we went to the Cincinnati Scotty Friends Convention. She dressed for every event….
She made everyone laugh and have a good time! We spent a week with some good friends! Then we got home and cleaned out the garage! We can fit a car in there now.
Then as we were cleaning the garage we heard a very loud crashing sound from the back yard
Huge tree limb fell! Crazy….Ohiophotogrl was just on her way outback when it happened. Thank God everyone was ok because we had to call someone to come get it out of the yard it was so big.
But now we are back to getting some routine in our lives. Let’s hope that happens soon! Take care and I’ll be back soon!

Last night Ohiophotogrl and I went to First Friday in the Oregon District. On the first Friday of every month all the shops are open till 9 or later and there are street performers and people playing music in the street. This month we checked out a place called 416 Dinner.
The have the most wonderful potato twists there that you will ever have! Ohiophotogrl got a grilled cheese that was quite yummy and our pal ScottyScouts got a veggie burger. MMMMM they even have a kids menu.
The place seats about 25-30 people I would guess but the owner came over and talked with us and the waitress did a great job as well. Pretty sure we have a new favorite place.
They have vegetarian options and they have gluten free desserts! You really should go check them out if your in downtown Dayton, Ohio. There actual location is 416 E 5th St.

Ohiophotogrl and I have been watching people blow bubbles when it’s really cold out side. Some of the photos are really neat! We thought we would give it a try.
First we mixed our solution.
We used:
1 cup of water
1/4 Cup Of Dawn dish soap
1/8 cup of Karo corn syrup (the clear kind)
Mixed it all up and then let it set on the counter for half an hour. We wanted it wall to be at the same temperature.
Then it was time to test our bubbles. There was very little wind. This is very important to know. Wind will burst our bubbles. It also has to be below 15 degrees. We waited till it was 12 degrees outside. We went on the back porch and turned on our porch light. There is a trash can by the back door so that’s where we aimed the bubbles.
Several bubbles landed and after 3-4 minutes this is what we got
Kinda looks like a doggie if you look in the bubble. We got frozen lines in there but no real cool patterns. The wind started to pick up which causes the bubbles to do this….
It was a fun experiment! Wonder what we’re gonna do next?
One of the many stops in this trip was to Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge. The J. N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge is part of the United States National Wildlife Refuge System, located in southwestern Florida, on Sanibel Island in the Gulf of Mexico. It is named for the cartoonist Jay Norwood “Ding” Darling.
There is a museum when you first get there that has lots of cool things inside. (It’s also air conditioned in there :0)
You can touch bones and skins of animals to see what they feel like. You can watch videos on different things that you can see in the refuge and most of all they have this really cool area where you can make something to take home.
We even met some fun people along the way. This is my new friend Monica!
What a fun place to take anyone that likes nature. We really enjoyed this place. After the museum you can drive your car, walk or take a team thru the refuge. There is a very small fee to do this and the wild life you see there is amazing! One other cool thing is check the coupon books that you pick up around the island. There was a coupon for a free reusable water bottle. They have filtered water stations through Sanibel Island. So having someplace to put water in was an added bonus! It’s hot in Florida and staying hydrated is mandatory!
We are having so much Fun! Wonder what we’re gonna do next?
I know something is going on around here and I can’t figure it out……
The suitcases are out and Ohiophotogrl won’t tell me where she is going and if I get to go. Maybe I’ll get my suitcase out and load some stuff up just incase I get to go. I hope I get to go. Oh how I love an adventure! Stay tuned!
