What is Gluten?

So ohiophotogrl and I have a friend that is showing signs that she might have a gluten allergy.

We decided to look it up and investigate. What is a gluten allergy…well it is a Sensitivity to gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye.

So we found a Scone recipe that has no gluten in it.

So we needed:

We are gonna use a little bit of real sugar instead of the stevia. 2 teaspooons of regular sugar to be exact. Then we preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit

Then we mixed the dry ingredients in a bowl! Stir it around a bit with a fork.

We got out the Kitchen Aid mixer and put the eggs in and mix them up. Then goes the milk! Mix it up and add the coconut oil. Mix some more. Add the dry ingredients and turn the mixer on again. It makes kinda a dough. Add some dried fruit if you want. I added apricots and cherries.

It looks like this before you put it in the oven.

Take a spoon and drop little spoonfuls on a cookie sheet. And put it on the oven.

The recipe says bake for 20 minutes. Mine weren’t done then I had to back for 24 minutes. You want the sides to start browning and when you put a toothpick in the middle, you want it to come out clean!

All I can say is Yummy! We sprinkle a little powder sugar on top and serve!

Boy that was fun!

Jan 1,2017

Today starts a new year. A fresh start if you will. Ohiophotogrl and I are looking forward to some great adventures this year. We want to show you some of the cool things that are around where we live and even go to some places not so close as well.

Not only adventures outside but indoors as well…like cooking special dishes…taking care of the dogs…even chores (I don’t like to do them either but we have too.)

The possibilities are endless!

That’s Ohiophotogrl ready to blog us into 2017!

We are ready to rock on the New Year!

What’s for dinner

Last night we decided we wanted to make a burger at home! We went to the grocery store and ohiophotogrl picked up a quarter pound of hamburger. We got some bread and cheese and headed home.

Ohiophotogrl did the cooking and I supervised. We use a ceramic pan to cook on and the meat doesn’t stick to the pan at all. We also made ScottieScouts some macaroni and tomatoes.

We set out plates and put bread on our plate and then got out ketchup and dill pickles. Finished off he plate by putting some Lays wavey chips….MMMMMMMMM

I see a lot more eating at home in the new year!

Wonder what we’re gonna do next?

I can see clearly now…..

As ohiophotogrl and I look thru the last year of blogs we were disappointed in our lack of communication. 2017 is going to be a better year for us!

We like to hang out at the house and bake so I’m sure there will be some backing coming up! We have some parks we want to explore and friends we want to share with you.

Happy New Year! We will see you in 2017!

Where have I been…

Hey there my friends. I am so sorry that I have been away for awhile.  Life got crazy for a little while but Ohiophotogrl says we are going to be on the internet a whole lot more in 2017. I for one am looking forward to that.

I have a few more friends that will be joining us as well this year.  Cant wait for you all to meet them.

Thank you for being a part of our lives’ and we look forward to seeing you all in 2017!

Now I’m off to get some rest we have some adventures to get to :0)

Happy Halloween

Hey everyone! Today is the last day of October or what most people call Halloween! Tonight we pass out candy to all the ghouls, goblins, princesses, superheroes and I have no idea what else we will see.

I have to decide what to wear…

Or maybe

I just don’t know! I better go by some more candy…I don’t want to run out!

Have a great Halloween. Please remember to look both ways when you cross the street, sometimes cars don’t see us when we are running to the next house or running home from work :0)

Halloween Festivities

Today I got to hangout with Ohiophotogrl at one of her photo shoots! We had been spending some time on FB telling people to come see us at This Old Couch here in Beavercreek Ohio.

The first thing we did yesterday was decorate for Halloween. We had straw and pumpkins and spiderwebs and ghosts just to name a few things. We took pictures and then the kids got to make a craft. There was watercolor painting and ghost making!

We took pictures of little ghosts and goblins. There was Mr bacon, a gorilla, a female swat team member, there where ballarinas, a hobbit, Elsa, Spider-Man, a hot pepper, a minion, Mickey Mouse, witches, a ninja, a pig, woody,a mommy, Harry Potter and a sugar skull girl! People brought dogs too! How fun! You can see pictures of these wonderful costumes on Ohiophotogrl Facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/pennycollinsphotography

We decided to dress as superheroes for the day…this is me

We had so much fun! Met lots of neat new people! Makes me wonder what we are going to do next?

Ladies and Gentlman

I’m hear to announce that starting tomorrow Ohiophotogrl and myself are going to be back at updating you in the cool things we are up too!

It’s green day

Every year on March 17, the Irish and the Irish-at-heart across the globe observe St. Patrick’s Day. What began as a religious feast day for the patron saint of Ireland has become an international festival celebrating Irish culture with parades, dancing, special foods and a whole lot of green.

Today we are all Irish! Don’t forget to wear your green and please be careful out there!
